Last post for NaBloPoMo and it's a cop-out picture post, with thanks to our livingroom window sill.
Every November these plants excel themselves and shamefully I have no idea what they're called. Winter flowers are always so unexpected, and so very appreciated.

The plant pictured at the top is called a "HungLlama", the other one I can't remember its proper botanical name, but its colloquially known in Poland as a "decapitated russian bride with a double twist". I think I got the translation right.
Hi Anne
Happened on yr pix of cacti... so far as I know their ordinary name is Christmas Cactus; the botanical name, I think, is Schlumbergera. (Try a google on Chris. Cactus.)
There's a similar type that flowerrs around Easter -- hence name of Easter/Whitsun Cactus. I wrote a poem about the latter some 25 years ago! (I mention this only because of the name of yr blog.)
